If I could have any life other than my own, this would be it. I seriously can’t wait for summer vacation. I’m so sick of this AP shit and unwarranted stress, I just want to decompress and enjoy myself the old-fashion way: weed, beer, and waking up whevever I want.

On another note, this is my 100th post, so happy hundy, blog.

This is a follow-up post from my “Who needs Alexander Wang when you have DIY” post. I got a lot of good feedback so I thought I’d try out another and help direct some flow towards fellow bloggers. Expect another soon, I’ll give you a hint: It’s something that begins with MMM ;)

I’ve been meaning to mention this for a while now, but never got around to it. I won a set of F21 stud rings from the wonderful Alicia at Instant/Vintage some time ago and I’ve been wearing them pretty religiously. I finally took some pictures and thought it best to share them.

NOLA was a unique plethora of tastes and sounds that I’ve never experienced quite so harmoniously before in my life. It was a mix of cultural electric shock and unreluctant drunkness with unfortunate consequences (like waking up drunk the morning of my Loyola tour). If you’ve never been: go. If you have been: go back. And if you live there: thankyou. Overall, I apologize for my unsteadiness with this blog, but I have a bunch of stuff that I’ll be posting soon, so hold your horses.

Damn, I’ve been gone for a while, but I swear I have a legit excuse. I’m in New Orleans right now! Yeah, I guess I could have given everyone a heads up, but I forgot and then it was too late. Here I am, near the corner of Conti and Bourbon watching Jimmy Fallon on whatever his show is making jokes about Sanjay Gupta (I love you Sanjay). I’ll post about being here more later, but for now, I’m just enjoying myself.

You remember when you still got Teen Vogue and Seventeen and the deaded prom issue would arrive in your mailbox and the only thing the magazine was good for was flipping through the pages and trying to find the ugliest dress in the whole thing? It was so bad it was good, car crash style.

It seems that times have changed. After checking the site on a whim, I found that Teen Vogue has done a prom editorial so fucking cool that it’s not even a prom editorial anymore. It’s all just evil teacups, bouffants, and ‘I wear a veil with indifference.’ According to the feature description, it twas inspired by Twilight; I’ve never read it and I don’t really have any desire to, but seriously, thank fuck for Twilight because it brought us this.

See it all here.

Fuck living in Costa Rica sometimes! I mean I love it but it’s possibly the worst place to live if you want to have things shipped to you. So that means no eBay, no online shopping, and most of all, no etsy. This has never been as big of a regret as it is right this moment since I have discovered sweatshopbytiq’s etsy store. I have never in my life wanted avant garde bustier tops as I do right now. Check out the store here.  If anyone wants to buy me that vintage Barbie one as a late birthday present to me, I wouldn’t complain. Maybe I’ll find some old PJ’s and try to DIY one (I already know it won’t come out as awesome…)

Sweater, thrifted // Belt, thrifted // Shorts, thrifted // Shoes, Newport News

Yeah, so almost my entire get-up here is freshly thrifted (or at least the main bits). When I saw this sweater, I immediately thought of the vintage Escada sweater that Rumi from fashiontoast posted about a while back but I assumed it would be oddly shaped and uncomfortable (and I’m also pretty reluctant to buy something just because I saw something similar on a blog) so I let it be for a bit. When, after 10 minutes or so, I still felt the itch, I threw it on with a pair of crazy pants I was trying on and realized I loved it. I got the belt a while back though. You can’t really tell but it’s a little boys belt with communist sybols all round it and I knew it had to be mine. I may post pictures of what I wear tonight later on cause I’m going to a friend’s party and I’m going to look good.
